Views From Neighboring Roads

“The enhanced 150-foot setback on Belden Hill Road was preserved from the existing development, and the proposed cottages have been purposefully located along this frontage to create a visual buffer between the public street and the remainder of the complex.

The principal structure (not including the chapel) is setback more than 360 feet from the closest single-family property on Belden Hill Road and 115 feet from single-family properties on Highfield Road. It is also more than 300 feet from the closest property with a single-family home bordering the Property to the north.

The tallest portion of the building is tucked into the northwest corner, furthest from the public streets. The design of the project, while not historically imitative in character, relates to the local tradition of residential precedents. Contextual materiality, detailing, and colors through the use of stone, clapboard, board and batten, relate to the local community vernacular.”
