The School Sisters of Notre Dame (SSND) acquired this property in Wilton in 1958, and in the early 1960s, construction was completed for it to become home to their Wilton Province, “Villa Notre Dame”. The property served as a motherhouse and residence for hundreds of sisters spanning over four decades. Then, seeing a decline in numbers and without the capacity to maintain the property, the sisters made the difficult decision to sell.
